Welcome to our log cabin on beautiful and crystal clear Island Lake near Barnes, WI! Island Lake is over 50' deep and approximately 60 acres. It is large enough for skiing and tubing but small enough for kayaking and paddle-boarding and doesn't have the heavy boat traffic of a larger lake. The lake is almost all sand-bottom and you can swim or float right from the shore and our dock! It stays clear and clean all year because it is so deep!
Our outdoor accommodations include a huge wraparound deck and a gorgeous screened porch, both with lake views! We have a Weber gas grill (with gas line), dining table and Adirondack chairs on the deck as well as a fire pit, swing and picnic table near the lake. We have 2 stand-up paddle-boards, a canoe and a paddleboat available for your use. We have a dock available if you would like to bring your own boat or rent a boat and have it delivered to our lake.
Our home is perfect for year-round recreation as it is located directly on a snowmobile/ATV trail and features a huge trailer-friendly circle drive with plenty of parking (and a basketball hoop). The home features heated floors and a wood burning stove on the main level for the cold months and an air conditioning unit available for the hot months! We also have a back-up generator should the power ever go out during your stay.
The main floor features complete living facilities including a main floor bedroom with a king bed, a bathroom with a tub and a washer and dryer. Enjoy the gorgeous lake views from the open floor-plan and complete wall of windows and doors to the deck and screened porch, both overlooking the lake! The master suite is upstairs and includes a queen bed and large master bath with a separate tub and shower and walk-in closet. The lower level features 2 bedrooms overlooking the lake, a a family/game room with a sleeper sofa, air hockey table, foosball table, dart board, an arcade game and another bathroom with a shower! The first lower level bedroom has a queen bed and the second has a twin over full bunk bed and an additional twin bed. There is new carpet and fresh paint throughout the entire home.
Our location is great…Cable, Duluth and Hayward are all within a short drive!! We are an easy drive from the Twin Cities (approximately 3 hours and all on paved roads). We are also not far from Bayfield, where you can hop on a ferry to Madeline Island for a fun day trip! Let me know if you have questions about our location or activities! Summary: This home was a great place to stay for the Birkie weekend. The home was clean and comfortable with a kitchen that worked well for preparing meals. The location was 1/2 way between Cable and Hayward, which worked wonderfully for getting skiers to and from their various race starts and finishes. Would recommend staying here!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay here and enjoyed everything about our experience. The kids liked the downstairs area and the adults enjoyed being upstairs. The kitchen had a lot of thoughtful items so we didn't have to bring along a lot in that area besides food. We would definitely stay again! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!

Summary: The house was perfect for our group of 6 guys on a ATV/side x side trip. The home was well furnished with supplies and kitchen items. Beautiful view of the lake through the large bank of windows/doors and deck area. Ample parking for 3-4 trucks with trailers. House provides open concept for gathering in dining room, kitchen and living area. Large wrap around deck is a nice bonus. I highly recommend this home!! Angie does a great job of communicating throughout the entire process.

Summary: The home was so comfy and clean - the deck so calming and refreshing…Couple of the guys went out in canoe and caught a few fish - just SO relaxing…and the homeowner is amazing and answered all my questions!!

Summary: Great location, right in the ATV trails. We had 8 people, 4 ATV's on two large trailers. Plenty of room for all of our vehicles. Cabin was great, better than the pictures!

Summary: Th cabin was everything we could have asked for! It was clean and it had more than enough room for a bigger family. The views from the back deck were spectacular! The lake was beautiful! Our family enjoyed using the canoe and paddle boards. Angie was very responsive and helpful! We would definitely look forward to staying at the cabin again!

Summary: This property was as advertised but the advertising didn't fully represent. For example, the incline to the water is VERY steep. The crushed stone path was very slippery making it almost dangerous for us elderly folks. Indeed, the stair steps inside seemed tenuous as well. Even the fifty year olds were being cautious and gripping the rails. The entry door latch severely sticks. That is, it catches on the strike plate and won't open. The property manager advised "you have to bump it with your hip". Well, no. Maybe a bump with a sledge hammer. But, really, should this sort of problem be encountered at all? It should also be noted that the electronic dead bolt would extend on its own when the door was open. There are deep gouges in the door trim indicating it had happened over some length of time. Was the place functional? Yes. Was it well outfitted? Yes. Was our stay enjoyable? Yes. However, had we realized the incline, we would have stayed elsewhere.

Summary: Our 8th year of staying here. Never fails to meet our needs. The kids love the beach and water toys. The 3 floors in the cabin allows everyone to have their own space. It is perfect for our family.

Summary: The cabin is well kept and spacious, and we felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. The whole family enjoyed playing on the sandy beach, swimming, and fishing for bluegill off the dock. Angie is a wonderful host! We’d definitely stay again.
